Our Story
Founded by Erika Dayana Copeland, Auka Lika Bilingual Academy is the heart of over 20 years of dedication to the Fairbanks community. Originally from Ecuador, Erika has spent the last 15 years shaping the lives of young children in Alaska. From leading classrooms at Head Start and Fairbanks Montessori to owning her own licensed daycare, her journey is rooted in a deep love for early education and bilingualism.

Fundada por Erika Dayana Copeland, Auka Lika Bilingual Academy es el fruto de más de 20 años de dedicación a la comunidad de Fairbanks. Originaria de Ecuador, Erika ha pasado los últimos 15 años moldeando las vidas de niños pequeños en Alaska. Desde liderar salones de clase en Head Start y Fairbanks Montessori, hasta ser dueña de su propia guardería licenciada, su trayectoria está arraigada en un profundo amor por la educación temprana y el bilingüismo.

A Family-Led Mission
We are a family-owned and operated Group Home. Erika is joined by her children, Nyssa Acevedo (Lead Teacher) and William Acevedo (Program Assistant). Together, we bring a shared passion for creating a nurturing space where children grow, learn, and thrive in both English and Spanish.
The AuDHD Advantage
Our academy is led by a neurodivergent family. As an AuDHD team (Autistic and ADHD), we understand neurodiversity from the inside out. This lived experience allows us to create a uniquely inclusive environment where every child—regardless of their learning style or ability—is seen, accepted, and celebrated.
